Across the Pool

Across the Pool. Melbourne Pool in Derbyshire was originally used to drive the local watermill. Nowadays the path around its edge has become a popular walk with local people and visitors alike. St Michael with St Mary's Church can be seen nestling behind the trees, alongside a glimpse of Melbourne Hall. It is difficult to demonstrate the full panorama of the painting here so I have added a detail above!
